Building Brand Clarity at Scale

As marketing initiatives expanded across teams and channels, Xello required a more scalable approach to brand execution. Challenge

Xello’s annual conference required a more expansive identity system capable of evolving beyond traditional event branding into a large-scale experiential environment. The project needed to support exhibition storytelling, sponsor communications, campaign rollout, digital touchpoints, and environmental graphics while creating a cohesive narrative experience around the future of careers and education.

Approach

Building operational clarity through scalable brand infrastructure

Building operational clarity through scalable brand infrastructure

The project focused on creating a centralized Canva ecosystem that functioned as both a design tool and an operational framework. Shared templates, campaign structures, governance systems, and brand foundations were developed to reduce production friction while maintaining consistency across distributed teams. Rather than functioning as a static template library, the system was designed as expandable infrastructure capable of supporting evolving campaign needs and increasing organizational scale.

Outcome

The final system reduced dependency on centralized production workflows while improving consistency across marketing materials and campaign communications. By establishing clearer governance structures and scalable self-serve tools, teams were able to move more efficiently while maintaining stronger alignment with the broader brand system.

Reflection

The project reinforced that effective brand systems are not simply visual frameworks. They are operational ecosystems. Much of the work focused on reducing ambiguity, simplifying decision-making, and designing structures that non-designers could confidently adopt without compromising brand clarity at scale.
